Course Outline

Increasingly mandated by government, legal and regulatory bodies, secure by design principles and activities enable organisations to take a proactive approach to managing opportunity and risks, ensuring securty is designed into existing and future digital product and service delivery. It enables informed decision making, the protection of brand and reputation, compliance with increasing legal, regulatory and contractual requirements, improved allocation of limited resource, and trust in digital services.

Organisational competence and awareness of risk management and common frameworks to ensure secure, resilient services is key to enabling consumer confidence and trust in both public sector and private sector digital service delivery.

Drawing extensively on government guidance, best practice theory, framworks and standards, this 2-day, instructor led, Digital Trust Professional® (DTP®) Secure by Design Foundation Certificate equips participants with an understanding of best practice secure by design principles and associated actitivites required to embed cybersecurity practices in digital delivery and the building of resilient digital services.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the Digital Trust Professional® (DTP®) Secure by Design Foundation Certificate participants will be able to:

Day 2

Risk Assessment

  • Identification of risk
  • Analysis or risk
  • Evaluation of risk

Risk Treatment

  • Common control frameworks
  • Control selection and prioritisation
  • Control implementation

Security Assurance and Improvement

  • Risk reporting
  • Risk monitoring
  • Continuous improvement

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this Foundation level course. The course is suitable for all employees at all levels.
