Senior Application Developer

Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to assist with the maintenance and development of applications to support operations for a fully functional 24x7 Security Operations Center. This position involves critical duties and responsibilities that must continue to be performed during crisis and emergency operations, which may necessitate extended hours of work on occasion.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop and maintain complex integrated component-based software solutions within various computing environments

• Develop and maintain new and existing network security monitoring tools used by our analysts

• Create and maintain documentation of all applications

• Participate in Software Quality Assurance (SQA) efforts through the use of unit testing and integration testing and scheduled rollout of new/updated applications

• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience*

• 5+ years of software development experience

• Expert level proficiency in both PHP development and modern Javascript UI frameworks

• Expert level proficiency in relational database design

• Solid understanding of API development and related concepts

• Thorough documentation skills for both code and end user

• The position is open to U.S. citizens and requires a favorably adjudicated DHS Fitness Review for Public Trust Positions**

• Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a Plus if You Have:

• Familiarity with Laravel and Symfony frameworks

• Additional proficiency in Python and Java preferred

• Experience in J2EE Technologies such as JMS, Java Server Pages, Java Servlets, HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSD, XSLT, Xpath and a good understanding of JAXB, JAXP

• Experience with build automation tools

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
